Publish date: 2024-06-14

A VEHICLE fire and pile-up closed the  M40 southbound in Warwickshire.

It is believed a lorry and van collided shortly after 11.30am before several other vehicles became involved and a fire broke out.

The road was closed completely between Junctions 12 and 13, with all but one lane being reopened by 1.30pm.

Highways England said: "Due to the severity of the fire, the #M40 remains blocked southbound between J12-J13. We are working hard to get traffic moving again asap."

Emergency services are on the scene.
