A BUSY Tube station was placed on lockdown after cops were called to investigate a suspect package.

A controlled explosion was carried out amid a heavy police presence outside the west London station.

British Transport Police attended the scene and confirmed officers secured a suspect package.

One office worker Ben Rabinovich wrote on Twitter: “The whole office is now staring at the police cordoning off all of Hammersmith because of "a suspicious bag" - Productivity has plummeted.”

Another named Mike de la Victoria said: “Cannot leave the building. Suspicious package found nearby.”
